A Bit About William
William Liu is one of the founders of the Helping Tibet Foundation. The otherworldly beauty and unique hardships of the rural Tibetan lifestyle greatly impacted him during his first trip to Tibet in the summer of 2015. Before he left Tade Temple, he promised all of the children that he would return. Motivated by his promise, he established this non-profit with Sabrina to help fund Tibetan childhood education. William now travels to Tibet annually, and although his purpose centers around helping the children, he frequently finds himself immersed in the ancient history and culture of Tibet.
Other Philanthropic Work
In addition to the Helping Tibet Foundation, William has been organizing charity concerts with other musicians in partnership with Love Through Music, a volunteer-based nonprofit performing music to support underserved communities. During the summer of 2019, he hosted his first concert at the Veterans Home of California in West Los Angeles. Not only did the veterans really enjoy the music, but many of them began scintillating conversations about their musical paths and musical knowledge with him. William plans on returning soon and organizing more concerts there.

William can also be found volunteering at Alpine Community Center in Los Angeles's Chinatown. Similar to his outreach with the Tibetans, he works hard to help underprivileged children’s education at Alpine.
Lastly, William is very involved with assisting people within his own community. He often volunteers at the local Sunrise Senior Living center, playing the piano or ping pong with its elderly. Even there, William talks about his experience in Tibet to many of the residents.
